It ultimately revealed Lord Vishnu’s true nature, his infinite tolerance, humility, and love, even when faced with disrespect.

However, Lakshmi Mata couldn't tolerate this disrespect, as Bhrigu kicked Vishnu in the chest, the place where Lakshmi resides. Upset by this insult to her home and to Lord Vishnu, Lakshmi cursed the Brahmins to endure constant poverty. She also did this so that Brahmins realise the importance of devotion and respect, and also said that the curse would only be lifted if they worshipped Lord Vishnu.
