I have started to sleep less since last week not because I have to wake up an hour earlier than usual, but because I do not want to miss the fun in life by sleeping earlier than usual. I have started to run as well on weekends and I look forward to it. Since I moved back to Dubai in 2014, I have made quite a few friends from all walks of life. There were 8 of us in a closed group, 4 couples. Continue reading
Funny incidents take place between me and my wife all the time. She would reach out and hold my hand while we wait at a red signal and won’t let go even when the signal turns green. She would bend herself in a pretty awkward and uncomfortable position to keep her head at my shoulder while I am driving. She would drop her hairpin, comb or hairband under her seat to be handed over to me by the car cleaners at a petrol station. Continue reading
Technology has created uncountable opportunities for common people like Em to express their honest and blunt ideas about various aspects of life. What struck me though was this tweet :
The pressure was unbearable. It felt as if everything will crush into nothing. I raised my head and looked around only to see thousands of heads swarming in every direction. Everyone was pushing forward. I tried to remember what happened, how I got there but couldn’t recall anything. All I had was this unexpected and unimaginable situation to deal with.
Where was everyone going? Why was everyone eager to leave? Continue reading
I don’t have a laptop anymore and I have been craving to write from the last few days. Craving won’t be the right word. I have been actually dying to write. There are two main ingredients to do writing: imagination and discipline. I know I have a strong imagination. I also know I am highly indisciplined. Continue reading
Milestones are good beings. Not only they tell you how close you are to your destination, but also how far you have come from wherever you were. They don’t travel themselves, their life’s purpose is to remain static. It is the static of the milestones that pushes people to achieve them. Imagine if milestones were also on the run like us, there wouldn’t be much of an achievement then. Selflessness, that is what we ought to learn from milestones. Continue reading
Have you ever wondered about the design of time? Well, I have.

The passage of time reflects in everyday life as effortlessly as breathing. Time serves the same purpose to existence as oxygen serves to life on earth. None can survive without either. A thinking mind knows no limitations when it comes to imagination, so let us stop using logic for a little while and play the game of imagination. Continue reading
‘I didn’t mean to tear apart his earlobe!’ I said to my cousin.
‘Oh comeon! You continuously hit him right on his ear!’ He said, reminding me that it was me who was in trouble, yet again.
‘So, what do we do now?’ I asked my cousin who was equally terrified.
‘Let’s go to Nowshera I say, without telling anyone. There would be no way for them to know we are there. Dada doesn’t have a telephone at his home’, he said.
Mango Chutney, the book, tagged as an anthology of tasteful short fiction, was launched on the eve of Indian Independence Day of 2014 at Cha Bar, Oxford Bookstore, Connaught Place.

Life is unpredictable.
Such vast is its expanse of unpredictability that all the well planned events are tossed into a whirlpool of uncertainty and sent through a constant turmoil.
You wake up one morning in a happy mood. You ponder upon your life and the way it has shaped so far and you expect it to go on the same course for the rest of the years you have. Right there, in that moment, lies the catch. You expect it to follow the same course, you don’t know whether it would or not! Continue reading
